What's in a Module?Lessons and Lesson ActivitiesLessons and their related activities represent what you would learn and be assigned as homework in one or more class periods at school. You can't learn just by reading, or even by reading and underlining. You need to actually process what you're learning by doing something with it. That's why it is very important that you don't skip the lesson activities. These activities help you learn the lesson topic. They can also be where you do your research and preparation for projects to be submitted as part of a section assignment. You should complete all the lesson activities unless your instructor asks you to do an alternate activity. Make a backup copy of everything you do on your computer or email in just in case your PC crashes. You don't want to lose eight months worth of worth because of a power surge or virus attack.
Key to the Lesson ActivitiesThe key provides the answers to the lesson activities. In the print version of the course, the key is located at the end of each module. In the online version, most activities provide an "Answer" button directly below each question. Some activities have no answer keys or provide only general comments.
GlossaryThere may be a glossary of terms used throughout that module or course. It is a good idea to glance through the glossary before beginning work on a module. Make a habit of checking the glossary whenever you come across terms you don't fully understand.
