First Assignments Roles

Roles and Responsibilities

Students:

Your role as a student is an important one.  The following are some expectations and tips for being a successful student at SCIDES.

  • Assume responsibility for your learning
  • Contact your homeroom teacher ~ this is probably the most important step that you will take.  It will enable your teacher to provide direction, help you solve problems, and provide encouragement
  • Develop a schedule for your work.  Be diligent in your approach to your studies and manage your time effectively
  • Ask for assistance to avoid frustration and confusion

Teachers:

Teachers are here to provide you assistance and guidance in your learning.  Their responsibilities include:

  • Giving you information about course requirements and ways of being successful in your studies at SCIDES
  • Assessing and evaluating your progress
  • Providing reports and comments about your performance
  • Monitoring your ‘attendance’ through your submission of assignments and tests
  • Providing a liaison between you and your markers

They are here to help you! Please feel free to contact them at the school @ 1.800.663.3536

Markers:

The role of our markers is to provide you with accurate and informative assessment of your written work.  They work collaboratively with our teachers to create the best learning environment for you.
