Family Studies provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will assist them in making informed decisions related to parenting, adolescence, adulthood, family and interpersonal relationships, and housing and living environment.

COURSE OUTLINE

Module Tests = 60% of course mark / Written Assignments (Send-in) = 40% of course mark

This course consists of two modules with a test for each module.

Families in Society

The aim of Families in Society is to provide a broad overview of family issues. Students examine how changes in society impact the definition of family and the functions of the family, as well as explore family trends in Canada and family customs and traditions in different cultures.

Interpersonal and Family Relationships


In this module students will examine the variety of ways people communicate and describe components of healthy and unhealthy relationships. They will conclude this course by researching careers associated with interpersonal and family relationships.
