Course Assessment:

  • In the majority of our courses, students are assessed through send-in assignments and tests. Student work is generally weighted at 40% for written assignments and 60% for tests.
  • Students are expected to find an appropriate test supervision site. Acceptable sites are:
    • Public schools
    • Libraries
    • Other government facilities.

Reporting:

  • Formal reports are issued to parents on a regular basis during the months of September - June.
    • 3 formal reports: Elementary
    • 4 formal reports: Secondary
    • Informal reporting and anecdotal reporting is ongoing throughout a course via email, phone contact and in some cases, by home visits.
  • Schools receive monthly reports on student progress

Letter grades:

  • A: (86% - 100%) Excellent performance in relation to the expected learning outcomes
  • B: (73% - 85%) Very good performance in relation to learning outcomes
  • C+: (67% - 72%) Good performance in relation to learning outcomes
  • C: (60% - 66%) Satisfactory perfomance in relation to learning outcomes
  • C-: (50% - 59%) Minimally acceptable performance in relation to learning outcomes
  • F: (0% - 49%) Has not demonstrated minimally acceptable performance in relation to learning outcomes
  • I: In Progress or Incomplete. The student is making progress, but requires additional time to meet expected learning outcomes
