Upon enrollment with SCIDES students are assigned to a classroom teacher. Each teacher has a class of students for which the teacher is responsible. The teacher does all of the program outlining, marking, communicating, evaluating and home visitations. The teacher will lead the program and work with a designated home facilitator (usually a parent/guardian) to provide a full, BC Ministry of Education certified program for the student. It is desired that the home facilitator encourage the student to complete the program within a standard ten-month school year, as SCIDES teachers are not available to mark and evaluate your child’s work during the summer months.
